Greek exit poll says Syriza wil win election

I’m so rarely topical these days – except on twitter – so thought I’d share this item from a blog I follow and enjoy!

Dear Kitty. Some blog

This July 2014 video is called Greece: the fightback against austerity.

The election in Greece is just finished.

An exit poll, published minutes ago on the site of British daily The Guardian, says:

EXIT POLL:

SYRIZA 35,5-39,5

ND 23-27

Potami 6,4-8

Golden Dawn 6,4-8

KKE 4,7-5,7

PASOK 4,2-5,2

Ind.Greeks 3.5-4.5

Kinima 2,2-3,2

However, exit polls are often wrong.

Workers Solidarity Movement (Ireland): Today, across Europe, the left is excited by the likelihood of Syriza topping the polls in the Greek election. Some on the left have gone so far as to suggest the election itself will mark the end of austerity policies, in the terminology of the Anglo left, an end to the idea that There Is No Alternative (TINA): here.

Alexis Tsipras: “Today is a new beginning, will be followed by Podemos in Spain, & next year, Sinn Féin in Ireland”: here.
