The Force of Circumstance

Although I cannot
always lay claim to having a placid mind, compared to the howling gales outside,
my mind today seems like a positive oasis of calm. Debris, of which one would
be oblivious on a less windy day, imposes it’s presence as it takes free-flight
around the garden. But, perhaps I should not have incorporated the word “free”,
in reference to the debris’ flight, as it really has very little choice in the


In similar fashion,
the minds turbulence is all too frequently a response to external circumstance
and stimuli. Interior and external worlds can rarely be separated, we are
always thrown into a situation; the important thing is our response to the
situation. We are both shaped by and the shapers of our circumstance.
