After a somewhat exhaustedly weary start to the day, and beaucoup de extra rest, the lure of the kitchen somewhat overcame my psychological pallor. My beloved having placed two comely potatoes in the oven, the smell of their baking led me to thoughts of what they were to accompany. A couple of fresh and naked salmon fillets demanded my attention so, kitchen cabinets here I come.
I first liberally coated the fillets in ginger, mustard, honey and a sprinkling of soy and Tabasco sauces; a sprinkling of freshly ground black pepper was the final touch before placing them in a lightly oiled baking dish. As this would only require about twenty minutes, alongside the already reasonably baked potatoes, in the oven my attention turned to the vegetable accompaniment.
Sliced red, green and yellow peppers, halved cherry tomatoes (liberally sprinkled with freshly ground black pepper) were tossed into a little oil laced with rogan josh masala and garlic granules to be lightly sautéed. A couple of sliced mushrooms were added to the mix for the final few minutes.
The resultant dish proved an absolute delight. Although my sundry annoying aches are still present, this further culinary success has worked wonders for the morale. At least I can modestly bask in the afterglow of a wonderful meal.
