A (Theoretical) Norm becomes a Novelty

Although I quite regularly use Firefox as my browser, I still find that some sites are handled far better by IE6. Recently IE on my laptop has had a tendency to hang, two or three times per day, a situation not resolved by removing additional toolbars etc. Out of frustration, with the (all too regular) suggestion that I should “send an error report”, I decided to re-install IE6 and, so far, the problem seems to have been resolved. I now find myself checking to confirm that it is indeed IE I’m using; the experience of a non-hanging browser has become something of a novelty.
