Time for a letter

On our return from ‘Open Church’, we met the mother of one of our friends who is currently a guest of Her Majesty’s Prison Service. It was good to receive some quite positive news about him and, we hope and pray that he will get the right kind of help and support when he’s allowed out on parole. His propensity towards immoderate, or at least inappropriate, consumption of alcohol has always been a major stumbling block, transforming an otherwise gentle and caring person into someone who, by his own admission is, “not at all nice to know”.

This brief encounter with Brian’s mum reminds me, once again, that I must get down to a little epistolary communication.
