Walking the walk

One of the great delights, on checking my e-mail this morning, was a short movie of my great-niece Ruby taking a little walk. The combination of determination and enjoyment is just so beautiful to watch, as she rushes towards her (out of the frame) Dad who duly praises her achievement.

The two lessons I take from this are:

i)                   The importance of an encouraging word.

ii)                 To be grateful for those ‘normal’ everyday actions, walking, smiling, laughing, and sharing, that we all too easily take for granted.

In this day the Lord has made, I will attempt to rejoice and be glad.
