It’s almost as if my body, whilst sighing its relief at having coped so well with Christmas and New Year’s (low-key) festivities, now seeks to remind me of its frailty. Although I’ve had plenty of rest, and entertaining has been kept to a minimum, this afternoon witnessed the return of the “shattered” experience. “Fatigue” fails to describe the sensation; a bloated giddiness, accompanied by aching and painful joints and muscles, suddenly makes itself at home. A corresponding, simultaneous, drop in temperature of head, torso, limbs and particularly the extremities, confirms that dis-ease is still not ashamed of my company.
A couple of hours lying-down, quite strangely, seems to exaggerate one’s awareness of the bodies declining temperature but, it certainly relieves the sense of floating giddiness. I am now restored to a state of sufficient concentration to attempt a ‘blog posting; this is the attempt!
I remain grateful that I have been able to manage/ cope with the seasonal festivities as well as I have and, look forward to this evening’s visit from Cathy & Ken.
