For what we are about to receive …

A wonderful pampered start to the day with breakfast in bed, served by my beloved, wheat biscuit cereal followed by bacon and black pudding … so wonderfully decadent! The slightly unhealthy diet continued, with a ciabatta-based pepperoni pizza as a late lunch; one needs to break the healthy diet cycle on occasion!


By way of compensation, for this day of idle cuisine, I set about preparation of Sunday’s lunch in the late afternoon, a turkey chasseur with a bite. The ingredients are slightly experimental, although all the usual elements of Heterocon’s recipes, peppers, onions and mushrooms, are reasonably well represented. This will be served with my special roast potatoes and fresh vegetables.


This evening whilst sat in front of the warm cathode-ray tube, my beloved and I have enjoyed a glass or two of rich berried fruit, from a bottle labelled “Farnese Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, 2003”.
